You may refuse to provide any requested information, although that may impact your ability to fully participate in the activities on our Web sites.
The types of information collected at this Web site may include
• contact information, such as full name, email address, name of school, city, state and country, and grade level and subjects taught.
• Internet Protocol (IP) information, such as your IP address and browser type.
How Do We Use Information?
Our Web site’s registration form asks users to give us contact information, unique identifiers, and demographic information. All registration information is submitted to us on a voluntary basis. Once you register, we use customer contact information from the form to contact you, to send you information about our company and site, and/or to give you updates on products and/or services.
Collecting and Sharing Data:
We sometimes collect information to find out which pages in our site that people visited, and how long they stayed. In addition, we may aggregate demographic and information you provide and use aggregate information to better design our Web site and to improve our marketing strategy and our product offerings. We may share this information with our advertisers, licensees, and/or other business partners with whom we link to permit them to contact you with information about certain products and services. If you are under thirteen, you should not provide any information to us.
Other than as explained in this policy, we may disclose personal information in the good-faith belief that we are required to do so by law, or that doing so is reasonably necessary to comply with legal processes, respond to any claims, or protect the rights or property of Dulcinea Media, its subsidiaries and affiliates, our customers, or the public. In addition, information about our customers, including without limitation personal information regarding customers under thirteen, may be disclosed as part of any bankruptcy, merger, sale, transfer of company assets, or acquisition.
The option to allow us to share certain information with some of our promotional partners may be provided, or the option for you to elect not to have us share certain information may be provided. You always have the right to unsubscribe from any mailing lists we may maintain.
Email and E-Newsletters:
Dulcinea Media offers users the option to subscribe to e-mail newsletters. If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we, and our third-party e-mail vendor, will use your name and e-mail address to send the newsletter. Prior to sending you any newsletters, we send you an advisory email notifying you that your email address has been signed up for our email newsletters, and giving you the opportunity to opt-out. We provide you a simple and easy way to unsubscribe through a link within our newsletter e-mail.
Surveys or Contests
From time to time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our site. If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and address) and demographic information (such as zip code).
We may use a third-party service provider to conduct these surveys or contests; that company will be prohibited from using our users’ personally identifiable information for any other purpose without your consent. We will not share the personally identifiable information you provide through a contest or survey with other third parties unless we give you notice and the choice to opt out.
If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site or an article on our site, we will ask you for your friend’s name and e-mail address. We will send your friend a one-time e-mail inviting him or her to visit the site. Dulcinea Media stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time e-mail.
make it easier for you to navigate our site. A session ID cookie expires when you close your browser. We do not or combine this anonymous data with any personally identifiable user information.
You have the ability to accept, decline and delete cookies by modifying your Web browser settings. However, if you disable cookies, some advanced and customized features of our Web site (and other Web sites) will not be available to you. For more information on how to change your Web browser settings to disable and/or delete cookies please see the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s “Manage Cookies” article.
We employ or our third-party advertising partner employ Web beacons that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Web beacons are clear gifs (tiny graphics) with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, Web beacons are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. The Web beacons do not collect any personally identifiable information from our users. We do not tie the information gathered by Web beacons to our customers’ personally identifiable information.
We use Web beacons in our HTML-based e-mails to let us know which e-mails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. If you would like to opt out of these e-mails, please see “Newsletters.”
Dulcinea Media uses trusted and reputable other advertising companies, called third-party ad servers or ad networks, to serve advertisements within our Web site. Because your web browser must request these advertising banners from the ad network Web site, these companies can send their own cookies to your cookie file. We only authorize our third-party ad servers to employ anonymous cookies for ad delivery and anonymous targeting. Our third-party ad servers do not collect, nor do we give them access, to any personally identifying information about you.
If you want to opt out of third-party ad network cookies, you may do so through the Network Advertising Initiative. http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp
IP Address and Machine Type:
An IP address is a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web. Web servers, the computers that “serve up” Web pages, automatically identify your computer by its IP address. When you request a page from our Web site, our servers log your IP address. Except with respect to our e-commerce activities (for example, online purchases) and our e-newsletters, we do not link IP addresses with personally identifiable information. We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our Web site. Your IP address is used to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information. We may also collect information about your browser software and/or machine type (for example, Windows, Mac, and Unix).
We do create links to the Web sites of other parties. The inherent nature of the Internet allows easy access from one Web site to another. Though we certainly try not to link to any Web sites that contain unsuitable or inappropriate material, we cannot control any of these links and are not responsible for any content appearing on Web sites linked to or from our Web site, or for any personal information gathered at those independently operated Web sites. Independently operated Web sites are not associated with Dulcinea Media.
You are welcome to change or delete your subscriber information at any time, update the contact information we have for you, or inform us that you do not want to receive our e-newsletters or other information from us. If so, please write to Info@FindingEducation.com.
